wheat-graine

Wheat Grain holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and most vital Cereal crops globally. In Sri Lanka, it is imported and subsequently processed within the country to produce Flour. This Flour serves as a fundamental ingredient for a wide range of Food Products including Bread, Biscuits, Crackers, Pastries, Buns, Cakes, Pizzas, and Pastas. It’s worth noting that direct imports of Wheat Flour are subject to taxation. However, in the year 2000, due to a domestic shortage, the Sri Lankan Government took the initiative to procure 68,000 metric tons of Wheat Flour processed by the National Flour Mill in Dubai. This significant acquisition was facilitated by Durden Commodities, playing a crucial role in ensuring the availability of this essential staple during a time of need.
